Unique Dixon, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Unique grew up facing adversity. She lost both of her parents to addiction at a young age and was raised by her grandmother, who sacrificed everything to give her a better future. Despite her grandmother’s love, Unique’s early life was turbulent – she was exposed to drugs, institutions, and prostitution (commercial sexual exploitation) at just 12 years old. As a young teen, she fell victim to sex trafficking, spiraling into a life of chaos and pain. By 2016, caught in the grip of addiction and trauma, Unique hit rock bottom. That year, she made a life-changing choice to pursue recovery – a decision that not only saved her life but also ignited her passion to help others.

In the years since embracing recovery, Unique has built a thriving career in behavioral health and social work, working in the field for nearly a decade. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) and specialized certifications (CPS-MH, CPS-AD, WHAM, FPM), she has both the academic knowledge and lived experience to connect with those still struggling. Her background as a Certified Peer Specialist enables her to use her own story of mental health and addiction recovery to guide and inspire others on their path to wellness.

Unique’s mission is to empower other survivors and individuals in recovery to Heal, Overcome, and Thrive. Through her work, she provides guidance grounded in self-worth, confidence, and profound personal transformation. She is especially devoted to helping gyrls and women redefine themselves beyond their trauma or past mistakes. Her vision is to spark a global movement where gyrls and women – especially those who have survived trauma, trafficking, prostitution, or addiction – can break generational cycles and boldly reclaim their power.

Beyond her professional role, Unique remains deeply committed to her family and the recovery community that embraced her. She devotes countless hours to mentoring and supporting those who are still finding their way out of darkness. For Unique, this work is personal: she believes her greatest responsibility is to serve others and give back the hope that was so freely given to her. From pain to purpose, she lives by the principle that every story of survival can become a beacon of light for someone else.
